The Power of the Church Nursery

By | April 4, 2016

No one ministry can make or break you as quickly as your church’s nursery ministry. You only get one chance to make a positive impact on a guest bringing a child. From my experience, the nursery sometimes doesn’t get enough attention due to the flashier ministries of the church getting most of the time and money.

As a parent, I know the things I looked for in a nursery:

  • Is it clean?
  • Is it inviting?
  • Are the people friendly?
  • Do I trust the people I’m handing my kids off to?
  • Do they run background checks of all workers?
  • Are my kids safe?
  • How will you contact me if there is a problem?
  • What security procedures are in place?
  • Who can pickup my kids?

When you ask these questions about your church nursery, are all the answers positive? If not, you have areas you need to work on.

A bad nursery experience will doom a guest to never return no matter how great the worship experience or preaching. How does your nursery stack up? What are some questions you ask when taking your child to a church nursery? Share your thoughts in the comments!.
