Bulls-eye

By | January 18, 2016

Ever feel like you have a bulls-eye on your head and Satan’s coming after you? Even worse, Satan sometimes uses people in your day to bring his attacks on you. Sometimes, there are waves of attacks. What do you do?

Sometimes, you may feel like you want to run and hide. That never works. You’ve got to take the enemy head on! I’ve been spending time in the book of Isaiah over the last couple of months. I’ve read this verse many times but this time God really opened my eyes to its application for me.

Isaiah 54:17 (NASB95) – “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

There are some principles we can take from this verse. Isaiah was written about 700 years before Jesus came to walk the earth. We have to look at the Old Testament through the eyes of the New Covenant that Jesus ushered in with His death, burial, and resurrection. For believers today, you can trust that Satan’s attacks won’t ultimately have victory over you. As we walk in the Spirit, God’s plan and purposes are being carried out in our lives. The attacks of the evil one can’t win. We can trust that “no weapon that is formed against you will prosper.” We have the victory in Christ.

Are you in the middle of the battle right now? Claim Isaiah 54:17 as a promise for you. The attacks may be fierce, but God is stronger. Share what God is doing in your battle in the comments section. If you’re in the Phenix City area, I’ll be sharing a message called “Battling” this Sunday at 10:30am. Come check it out!
