Over the years, I have had my ups and downs in my experiences with prayer & fasting. Most of the times I spent fasting in the early years of my walk with Jesus were pretty forgetful. As I’ve grown in my walk with Jesus, I’ve learned that prayer and fasting are an important part (when used with the right heart attitude) of my relationship with God. You can pray without fasting but fasting must be accompanied by prayer.
In my message this week (click here for the message), I felt led by God to call Central Baptist Church to a season of prayer and fasting. Here’s our objective: For the body of Christ at Central to seek God’s guidance together as He leads us on a new journey with Him. I’m excited about the body of Christ at Central coming together to fast and pray for God’s plan to be revealed, realized, accepted, and obeyed.
In the message I shared some of my experiences with fasting. How have your times of prayer and fasting gone? If they’ve been beneficial, do you have any tips for us to encourage our experience? Join in the conversation in the comments. I look forward to hearing from you.
